A corner was knocked down by Josko Gvardiol, allowing Cherki to drive into the bottom-left corner past John Victor. Sean Dyche criticised the refereeing and VAR, claiming Morgan Gibbs-White was pushed to the floor in the six-yard box by Nico O'Reilly. Since returning to the top flight in 2022-23, Forest have conceded 53 goals in the final 15 minutes, the most in the division. The result marked Dyche's first back-to-back Premier League defeats since replacing Ange Postecoglou in October, and left him without a win in 17 top-flight meetings with Pep Guardiola (D2 L15), the joint-most one manager has faced another without ever winning in the competition.
