Diaz injured himself during a celebration at the 2023 tournament, though, so the Dodgers will hope he can remain healthy heading into the 2026 season."
The 2026 World Baseball Classic begins March 5 and will include nine players from the Los Angeles Dodgers organization comprised of current MLB players and minor leaguers. Many Dodgers on the major-league roster declined participation or were unable to play because of insurance difficulties. Edwin Díaz will represent Puerto Rico after a 1.63 ERA through 62 appearances, though he suffered an injury celebrating during the 2023 WBC. Prospects headed to the tournament include Jake Gelof for Israel, Hyeseong Kim for Korea seeking to rebound, and Antonio Knowles representing Great Britain after a Double-A promotion.
