Bo Bichette signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the New York Mets on Jan. 16, 2026. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he feels sad after playing with Bichette for many years but acknowledged that baseball is a business and players must prioritize their families. Guerrero Jr. expressed good wishes and affirmed that their friendship will endure despite no longer being teammates. The pair first teamed up in 2017 in Single-A Dunedin, made MLB debuts in 2019, and were ranked first and second in the Blue Jays' prospects list. Guerrero Jr. signed a 14-year, $500 million extension that kept him with Toronto through 2025. The Mets will visit Toronto June 29–July 1, 2026.
