Derek Shelton has been hired as the Minnesota Twins' new manager and will be introduced at a November 4 press conference. Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey emphasized Shelton's Major League coaching and managerial experience and his strong connection to the community and fans. Falvey highlighted Shelton's ability to earn players' trust and help them reach their best, and noted that Shelton's varied experiences have given him perspective as a leader. Shelton previously served as the Twins' bench coach in 2018-19 and managed the Pittsburgh Pirates beginning in 2020.
