Roman Anthony injury: Alex Cora says star likely out 4-6 weeks with oblique strain
"He's one of our best offensive players. It sounds harsh but we have to move on."
"He's going on the IL. He has an oblique strain,"
"Timetable, we don't know. ... Usually takes from 4-6 weeks."
"left oblique tightness."
Roman Anthony will be placed on the injured list with a left oblique strain after exiting the game against Cleveland. The injury occurred during a fourth-inning at-bat when Anthony appeared to tweak his side on a check swing and grabbed his lower back/left side after striking out. Manager Alex Cora said the timetable is uncertain but oblique strains usually take four to six weeks, and Anthony could miss the remainder of the regular season. Anthony was replaced by Nate Eaton and removed for 'left oblique tightness.' Anthony previously missed two August games with mid-back tightness. Cora called Anthony one of the team's best offensive players and said the club will have to move on.
