Recap: Tanner Scott Loses Combined No-Hitter, But Dodgers Beat Rockies
"The Los Angeles Dodgers returned from a week-long road trip still saddled by an anemic offense, but clawed together just enough timely hits in 3-1 comeback win and a near combined no-hitter against the Colorado Rockies. Rockies starter Chase Dollander limited the Dodgers to just one hit and one run over five-plus innings. Dollander had a no-hitter until Michael Conforto's leadoff single in the fifth inning. That was followed by a Hyeseong Kim strikeout and Andy Pages grounding into a double play."
"The pitching change worked in the Dodgers' favor, as Juan Mejia walked Shohei Ohtani and two batters later gave up a game-tying RBI double to Freddie Freeman on a chopper that went over first base and down the line. Mookie Betts put the Dodgers ahead with a two-run single in the seventh inning. The table had been set when Andy Pages was hit by a pitch and Ohtani doubled."
"Glasnow wasn't efficient but turned in seven no-hit innings. However, Colorado still managed to take a lead in the second inning because of Glasnow's wildness. Following a leadoff walk and stolen base, the Rockies hit two fly balls to bring in Jordan Beck. Kyle Farmer, who needed to enter as an injury replacement for Warming Bernabel, collected the RBI on his sacrifice fly."
The Dodgers rallied for a 3-1 comeback win while mounting a near combined no-hitter against the Colorado Rockies. Rockies starter Chase Dollander carried a no-hitter into the fifth, allowing one hit and one run over five-plus innings before exiting at 76 pitches with an apparent lower-leg injury after issuing a leadoff walk in the sixth. Reliever Juan Mejia walked Shohei Ohtani and then surrendered a game-tying RBI double to Freddie Freeman. Mookie Betts delivered a two-run single in the seventh after Andy Pages was hit by a pitch and Ohtani doubled. Tyler Glasnow returned from back tightness and tossed seven no-hit innings despite early wildness that allowed a run.
