Mariners To Re-Sign Casey Lawrence To Minor League Deal
"I think I'm used to kind of the movement of it,"
"And I think it's one of those things where you understand your role in the team and you're willing to do whatever is going to help the team. Right now, it's kind of doing this."
The Mariners signed right-hander Casey Lawrence to a minor-league deal, with an expected invitation to major-league spring training. Lawrence, 38, has been a long-time depth arm who has appeared in five big-league seasons, totaling 65 games with a 6.42 ERA. He and Seattle maintained a transactional relationship in 2025, with Lawrence repeatedly added for innings and then designated for assignment due to being out of options. He was claimed once by Toronto but mostly cleared waivers and re-signed with Seattle. He threw 17 2/3 innings with a 4.08 ERA over six appearances and plans to move into player-development or a front-office role.
