Jurickson Profar and Daysbel Hernandez are back, plus more Braves moves
"Jurickson Profar is back after a short stint on the paternity list. Congratulations to Jurickson on the little one and hope everything is okay! Daysbel Hernandez is back in Atlanta. Daysbel has bounced back and forth from Triple-A Gwinnett. He's posted a 2.72/4.32/5.57 line in 36.1 innings while he has been here. His walk rate is 7.43 per 9 innings this year. Is he fixed, I don't know. But also, what else are we gonna do?"
"Luke Williams was/is a late casualty from the Ha-Seong Kim addition earlier this week. The Braves might have found their 2026 shortstop and Williams hung around anyway while Profar was home with the kiddo. Cal Quantrill is gone. It was a nice thought to have here, and he was available. But allowing five home runs and 12 earned runs in eight innings is a lot, even for the 2025 second-half Braves. There's HR/FB, and then there's HR/FB, yikes edition."
Jurickson Profar returns from the paternity list and will play against the Mariners this weekend. Daysbel Hernandez rejoins Atlanta after moving between Triple-A Gwinnett and the majors. He has a 2.72/4.32/5.57 line in 36.1 innings and a 7.43 walks-per-nine mark, leaving control concerns unresolved. Luke Williams lost a roster spot after the Ha-Seong Kim addition, though he stayed while Profar was away. Cal Quantrill was removed after allowing five home runs and 12 earned runs in eight innings. Wander Suero was designated for assignment and claimed by the Mets. Profar's 183 August wRC+ strengthens the lineup.
