The Yankees defeated the White Sox 10-2 at Rate Field, marking their sixth consecutive win. Trent Grisham hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, his third homer in three days, fifth in six games and 28th of the season. Aaron Judge celebrated in the clubhouse and gave Grisham space for postgame media, even heading to the team bus. The victory moved the Yankees past the Red Sox into second place and within three games of the Blue Jays in the AL East. Grisham said he checks the standings infrequently and emphasized the long season ahead. Grisham spent considerable time on the bench after a disappointing first year with New York.
Later into a windy and chilly Southside of Chicago night, Judge looked up when seeing his locker neighbor headed his way wrapped in a towel. Judge glanced at a group of media waiting nearby, then asked Trent Grisham, "They coming to talk to you?" "I think so," Grisham responded. Judge quickly gathered a few things, then headed for a team bus so Grisham would have more room to conduct his interview once the he threw on a pair of jeans, a shirt and his cowboy boots.
The soft-spoken Texas again was a star in a Yankees blowout win, this one a 10-2 beatdown on a chilly and windy night at Rate Field. It was a 1-0 ballgame until the fourth inning when Grisham made it three homers in three days, five in his last six games and 28 for the season, this one a grand slam off former Yankees teammate Yoendrys Gomez that had the White Sox down and out.
