He's in the 23rd percentile in chase percentage (26.0%) while his groundball percentage (57.7%) is in the 96th percentile.
Sean Newcomb, Athletics: The Red Sox traded the lefty to the Athletics for cash on May 27 after designating him for assignment. He has pitched well in 29 relief outings (42 innings) for the A's, posting a 1.71 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .211 batting average against, 43 strikeouts and 11 walks. Newcomb - a Brockton native who graduated from Middleborough High - began the season in Boston's starting rotation.
