Former Dodgers Outfielder Lands First Coaching Job With Padres
"Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tim Locastro officially joined the San Diego Padres' coaching staff as their base running and outfield coordinator under new manager Craig Stammen. Locastro had spent the final two years of his playing career, 2024 and 2025, at the Triple-A level in the Padres' organization. The veteran is more than qualified to fill the role, having excelled both in the outfield and on the base paths. He never recorded a negative fielding run value during his seven-year MLB tenure, and stole 45 bases in 50 tries throughout his career."
"The Dodgers acquired Locastro in a minor league trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015, sending right-handed pitching prospect Chase De Jong in exchange. Locastro moved up through the minors with the Dodgers over the next two years, jumping from High-A Rancho Cucamonga to Triple-A Oklahoma City in just two seasons. He had a fantastic 2017 season in Triple-A, posting a .987 OPS through 31 games with a .388 batting average."
