"The MLB Players Association (MLBPA) announced finalists for the 2025 Players Choice Awards, which are chosen through a vote of their peers. The Los Angeles Dodgers had Shohei Ohtani place among the top three for Player of the Year and the National League Outstanding Player Award. Ohtani won the NL Outstanding Player Award last year. Clayton Kershaw is also one of the finalists for the NL Comeback Player Award."

The award, which comes with a $25,000 grant to the charity or cause of the winner's choice, is named in honor of the MLBPA's first full-time executive director, who served from 1966-1982."
