He completed Game 2 and won two consecutive elimination games at Rogers Centre, earning World Series MVP and helping the Dodgers repeat. He set records as the first pitcher to win three World Series road games and to win Games 6 and 7 on the road. He also became the first pitcher to allow no more than five hits, one run and one walk with at least five strikeouts while winning three straight postseason starts. The Dodgers used the Trajekt Arc pitching machine for batting practice and game-planning. Yamamoto finished the regular season 12-8 with a 2.49 ERA in 30 starts and was named a National League Cy Young finalist.
