Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Honored By 2nd Consecutive Roy Campanella Award
""I take a lot of pride in what my teammates and the guys around the clubhouse think about me, and I always say that I'm a server in baseball. I'm here to do whatever is necessary to win. I'm trying not to put myself at the center of attention. I just enjoy the moment that I walk in this clubhouse to provide whatever I can to help the team win and to make everybody better.""
""And being voted by my teammates and my coaches, it means a lot, and especially because I lean on them a lot. At some point in the year, I needed to talk to one of the coaches, Kiké and I had a conversation early in the year to kind of keep me on pace to be myself and provide what I can provide as a leader.""
Miguel Rojas received the 20th annual Roy Campanella Award, selected by Dodgers uniformed personnel as the team's Most Inspirational Dodger. Rojas earned the honor for a second straight season, joining a small group of players who have won back-to-back awards and becoming the fourth player with multiple wins. The 36-year-old is tied with Jamey Carroll as the second-oldest recipient behind Chase Utley. Rojas emphasized serving teammates, staying out of the spotlight, providing clubhouse leadership, and credited a conversation with coach Kiké for helping him remain himself and support teammates throughout the season.
