Freeman received one vote for third place, one for fifth, two for eighth, four for ninth and one for 10th. He placed 13th in final voting for the 2025 NL MVP Award. Freeman's only MVP Award to this point came in the 2020 season as a member of the Atlanta Braves."
"This year, Ohtani was followed by Philadelphia Phillies free agent Kyle Schwarber garnering 23 votes for second place and five for third, and one each for fourth and fifth, totaling 260 overall points. Fellow NL MVP finalist Juan Soto of the New York Mets had 231 points behind four votes for second place, 15 for third, nine for fourth and two for fifth. While Ohtani received all 30 first-place votes for NL MVP, the final ballot included 22 additional players garnering some consideration."
Shohei Ohtani won the 2025 National League MVP Award unanimously, marking the fourth MVP of his career and making him the only player with multiple MVPs in both leagues. He also won the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award, the Hank Aaron Award, and earned a selection to the 2025 All-MLB First Team. Ohtani received all 30 first-place votes. Kyle Schwarber finished second in voting with 260 points, and Juan Soto finished third with 231 points. Twenty-two additional players received votes, including Dodgers teammates Freddie Freeman and Will Smith. Freeman placed 13th with 29 points; Smith received two votes.
