Dodgers Exec Raves About Outfielder Acquired in Gavin Lux Trade
"Sirota began the season with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, posting monstrous numbers with the Quakes. Sirota slashed .354/.443/.687 through 24 games, hitting seven home runs and driving in 24 runs. His stellar performances led to a promotion to High-A in the middle of May, and he didn't take his foot off the gas. Sirota maintained an OPS over 1.000 through his 35 games with High-A Great Lakes, hitting six home runs and tallying 30 RBIs."
""We knew he was extremely talented and tooled out before acquiring him, but what we didn't know was just how competitive and focused he is," Dodgers director of player development Will Rhymes said. "He impacts the game in every facet, and his work ethic and intensity toward his craft give us tremendous confidence that he'll continue to dominate on his way to Los Angeles.""
The Dodgers traded infielder Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds for outfield prospect Mike Sirota, a third-round pick who had not yet played in the Reds organization. Sirota started the season in Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, slashing .354/.443/.687 in 24 games with seven home runs and 24 RBIs, then earned a mid-May promotion to High-A Great Lakes. He maintained an OPS above 1.000 across 35 High-A games with six home runs and 30 RBIs. MLB grades list all five of his tools at 50 or higher with an overall grade of 55. He ranks as the Dodgers' No. 5 prospect and MLB's No. 64, and a knee injury ended his season in July ahead of a planned spring return.
