""With Henriquez, it was a little bit easier in the sense of the way they construct their lineup - it's heavy left," Roberts said. "You got Glas in the 'pen for this game, we got some other right-handers. It's a lot of left-handed lanes." Henriquez also struggled in the Wild Card, making one appearance in Game 1 and recording zero outs while allowing a hit, two walks and an earned run."
"Roberts said the decision with Wrobleski, however, was more difficult. The left-hander didn't appear in the Wild Card, but had three straight scoreless outings to end the regular season. "I think with Wrobo, it was really difficult because he's performed so well and I can't really justify it, to be honest with you," Roberts said. "I think that we just wanted Clayton - Clayton's earned the opportunity to be on this roster (and) I'm gonna use him accordingly. And then also with Banda, just kind of his skillset is to really take down left-handed hitters, specifically.""
The Los Angeles Dodgers finalized a 26-man NLDS roster that omitted relievers Edgardo Henriquez and Justin Wrobleski while adding left-handed pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Anthony Banda. The roster carries 11 pitchers (12 including two-way player Shohei Ohtani). Henriquez was left off partly because the Phillies construct a heavy left-handed lineup and because Henriquez struggled in the Wild Card, recording no outs while allowing a hit, two walks and an earned run in one appearance. Wrobleski finished the regular season with three straight scoreless outings but was omitted because Kershaw earned a roster spot and Banda offers a specific skillset against left-handed hitters.
