"Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has known that what his team is displaying on the field is far from their fullest potential. This led into why he believed that superstar Shohei Ohtani would have a monster month of September. Especially after batting .306/.438/.582 with an OPS of 1.020 through August, Roberts seems to already be making good on his prediction."
"So far in September, Ohtani is batting .333/.474/.689 with an OPS of 1.163. He has four home runs and eight RBIs in this span. More importantly, Ohtani is hitting his stride at the perfect time. July was statistically Ohtani's worst month, batting .204 with an OPS of .826. If the three-time MVP can keep up this kind of production into October, it can allow for a greater margin of error to an offense that has shown plenty of inconsistencies lately."
Dave Roberts predicted a monster September for Shohei Ohtani after Ohtani hit .306/.438/.582 with a 1.020 OPS through August. Ohtani struggled on the mound in August, throwing 17.1 innings across four starts with a 5.71 ERA but recording 27 strikeouts and two walks. Early September pitching shows improvement with 3.2 innings, five strikeouts, one walk, three hits allowed and no earned runs. Offensively, Ohtani is batting .333/.474/.689 with a 1.163 OPS, four home runs and eight RBIs in September. Ohtani leads MLB in runs (135), leads the NL in slugging (.607) and OPS (1.001), and ranks third in MLB with 49 home runs. Sustained production into October would benefit an inconsistent Dodgers offense.
