"Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we're going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her. Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn't be able to do this without them. Thank you Dodger Nation, Blue Jays organization and all baseball fans for your love and support. We have seen ALL your messages, comments and posts. It's brought us so much comfort."
"Thank you to the @rams for all the love and kindness."
"Our little angel we love you forever and you're with us always."
The Los Angeles Rams presented Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia a custom jersey labeled "S. Vesia" with No. 1 and had all players sign it before sending it to the Vesia family. Alex Vesia posted a thank-you on Instagram expressing appreciation for the Rams' kindness. Vesia and his wife, Kayla, lost their newborn daughter, Sterling, on October 26. Teammates and opponents showed support, with the Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays bullpens wearing caps featuring Vesia's No. 51. The Vesia family publicly thanked baseball organizations and fans for messages that provided comfort. The Dodgers later picked up Vesia's $3.65 million club option.
