Diamondbacks Select Kyle Nelson, Connor Kaiser
Briefly

The Diamondbacks selected the contracts of Kyle Nelson and Connor Kaiser from Triple-A Reno, and reinstated Jalen Beeks from the injured list. Tyler Locklear was also added to the major league roster after being acquired in a trade. Brandyn Garcia and Tristin English were optioned to Reno. Nelson had a strong 2022 but struggled this season, while Kaiser, a glove-first infielder, has limited major league experience but is expected to play a utility role.
Kyle Nelson, a key member of Arizona's bullpen in 2022, struggled in 2023 with a 6.35 ERA but showed improvement with 6 1/3 shutout innings recently.
Connor Kaiser, providing infield depth, has a .236 batting average in Triple-A and will take on a utility role after Eugenio Suárez's trade.
