He's fanned 18.9% of opponents against a 10.1% walk rate and kept 41.4% of the batted balls against him on the ground. Waguespack has split the past two seasons between the Rays and Phillies organizations but didn't reach the majors in 2025."
"In two seasons over in Japan, Waguespack notched a 4.02 ERA in 116 1/3 innings with strong strikeout numbers and shakier command. He's had similar results in parts of five Triple-A campaigns, combining for a 4.24 ERA, 23.4% strikeout rate and 8% walk rate in 269 2/3 innings. Waguespack has experience as both a starter and a reliever but worked exclusively out of the bullpen when he was healthy in 2025."
Jacob Waguespack agreed to a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers and received a non-roster invitation to major league spring training. He has pitched in parts of three MLB seasons and two NPB campaigns, posting a 5.11 ERA in 105 2/3 big-league innings with an 18.9% strikeout rate, a 10.1% walk rate and a 41.4% ground-ball rate. He posted a 4.02 ERA in 116 1/3 innings in Japan and has a four-pitch mix, including a 93 mph four-seamer, an 86 mph cutter, a low-80s changeup and an infrequently used curveball. He has worked as both a starter and reliever and pitched exclusively from the bullpen when healthy in 2025. Milwaukee's rotation lost Freddy Peralta to a trade and is evaluating multiple internal and prospect options for the fifth starter role.
