Blue Jays: Trey Yesavage will make his first road start in the postseason in Game 5 of World Series
"In his last regular season start, the Blue Jays needed a win, and he gave them just that by pitching five scoreless innings en route to finishing with the best record in the American League. The right-handed pitcher made his first postseason start in Game 2 of the American League Divisional Series against the New York Yankees, striking out 11 batters in five and one-third hitless innings, one of the best postseason debuts in history."
"Thankfully, he rebounded in Game 6 of the ALCS when the Blue Jays needed a win to keep their season alive, giving up two earned runs in five and two-thirds innings of work, striking out seven. Yesavage has already faced the Dodgers in the World Series, giving up two earned runs in four innings of work in Game 1, another Blue Jays victory."
Trey Yesavage, 22, was drafted 20th overall in 2024 and rose quickly from Single-A to the majors in 2025. He debuted late in the regular season and finished with a five-scoreless-innings start that helped Toronto secure the AL's best record. He struck out 11 in five and one-third hitless innings in his postseason debut against the Yankees. He then allowed five earned runs in ALCS Game 2 before rebounding in Game 6. He gave up two runs in four innings in World Series Game 1. He will make his first postseason start away from Rogers Centre in World Series Game 5.
