Blue Jays hero just added exclamation point to his postseason with Silver Slugger win
"After a memorable, and resurgent, season at the plate for George Springer, the Toronto Blue Jays veteran will get to take home some hardware to remember his 2025 campaign. As announced live and exclusively on The Baseball Insiders YouTube channel, the 36-year-old Springer has added his third career Silver Slugger award to his trophy case, this one credited to his work as a Designated Hitter."
"He hit .306 with 26 hits and an .888 OPS in the first month of the season. While his numbers overall numbers dropped in May, his power numbers rose, hitting six home runs in the month. He was better in June, and in July he took off, hitting seven home runs while slashing .371/.451/.640. He also had arguably the biggest single hit of the season when his grand slam gave the Blue Jays the lead on Canada Day against the Yankees."
George Springer rebounded from a poor, injury-plagued 2024 to earn his third Silver Slugger as a designated hitter following a resurgent 2025. Springer produced strong monthly performances, beginning with a .306 average and .888 OPS in April, increased power in May and a torrid July (.371/.451/.640). He delivered a key grand slam on Canada Day and sustained late-season power, posting a 1.152 OPS in August (across limited games) and slashing .347/.434/.663 in September. As a DH he played 81 games, hit 25 home runs, drove in 57, totaled 100 hits and posted a 1.022 OPS. He finished 2025 with 32 homers, 154 hits, a 4.8 bWAR and a career-high 161 OPS+.
