A's Las Vegas stadium on track for 2028 opening, officials say
""I feel great about (the progress)," Badain said. "Obviously, we know the workforce. We know the construction firm, and the (supervisor) is the same super that delivered on Allegiant. When he tells me things are good, I don't worry.""
""I think we're through a lot of the processes and design that were contributing to escalation," Dean said. "Our strong goal is to keep it to that.""
""I think the most important thing is that starting in December of 2024, we were able to describe the financing for the stadium as being complete," Dean said. "We have the ability to bring in some investors"
Construction on the Athletics' approximately $2 billion, 33,000-capacity domed Las Vegas stadium is on schedule for opening before the 2028 season. The project entered the concrete phase with cranes in place and the first buttress and concrete column installed. Mortenson-McCarthy, the contractor that built Allegiant Stadium, is leading construction with the same supervising personnel. A ceremonial groundbreaking occurred June 23 and a Ballpark Experience Center opened to showcase the stadium and immersive fan experiences. Estimated costs rose from $1.5 billion to $1.75 billion to roughly $2 billion, with Nevada and Clark County approving up to $380 million in public funds and the team covering remaining expenses while pursuing investors.
