Jesse Cole and his wife sold their house, emptied their savings, and slept on an air bed to start the Savannah Bananas after selling only a handful of tickets in 2016. They left traditional baseball in 2022 to create Banana Ball with a "big vision to create something special." Banana Ball has drawn over 2 million fans and sold out 17 MLB stadiums in 2025. The inaugural Banana Ball Championship League will visit 75 stadiums in 45 states next year, aiming for 3.2 million fans, including 14 MLB parks and 10 football stadiums. Venues range from 102,000-capacity Kyle Field to 3,000-seat Dehler Park.
