Wentz reached the majors sporadically, registering five notable 2022 starts, then endured a difficult 2023 with multiple designations for assignment. A July 12 waiver claim by Atlanta revived his role as an innings-eating swingman, and better pitch location may open rotation or multi-inning relief chances in 2026.
