2025-26 Top 50 MLB Free Agents With Predictions
"Our annual list is a collaborative effort produced over the course of more than one month of debates among our team and, in certain cases (primarily foreign players who've yet to face major league pitching), input from major league scouts and industry sources we've cultivated over the years. I (Steve Adams) may be writing this intro, but the list is the culmination of hours upon hours of debate."
"Standard procedure for this list is for the four of us to agree on a consensus contract prediction for the players involved, though there are obvious disagreements along the way and not all of us are in full agreement on the final numbers put forth. We've each made an individual slate of team picks as well, which are reflected immediately following each player's contract prediction."
The Top 50 Free Agents list ranks the top 50 MLB free agents by estimated earning power. The selection process included more than a month of internal debates and, for certain foreign players, input from major league scouts and industry sources. The staff generally agrees on consensus contract predictions for each player while acknowledging disagreements on final figures. Each staff member also submits an independent team pick for every player, resulting in occasional consensus but often divergent projected destinations. Subscribers can use the MLB Contract Tracker tool to sort and filter free-agent data and view unsigned players. The list notes dozens more free agents will still command major-league contracts beyond the top 50.
