Trey Kaufman-Renn's bucket gives Purdue win over Texas
"Trey Kaufman-Renn hit his first seven shots -- going 6-for-6 and grabbing five rebounds in the first half -- on the way to 20 points."
"Mark scored 29 for the Longhorns, grimacing and clearly in pain limping on his injured left foot through the closing minutes when the sixth-year senior's team needed him most."
"For the Longhorns, it was the program's fourth loss on a game-winning field goal in the final two seconds, the most by any team in NCAA tournament history."
Purdue edged Texas 79-77 in the Sweet 16, thanks to a last-second tip-in by Trey Kaufman-Renn. Texas tied the game with a three-point play by Dailyn Swain. Kaufman-Renn scored 20 points, hitting his first seven shots. Tramon Mark led Texas with 29 points despite playing through an injury. This loss marked Texas's fourth defeat on a game-winning field goal in the final two seconds, the most in NCAA tournament history. Purdue advances to the Elite Eight to face either Arizona or Arkansas.
