Purdue edged Texas 79-77 in the Sweet 16, thanks to a last-second tip-in by Trey Kaufman-Renn. Texas tied the game with a three-point play by Dailyn Swain. Kaufman-Renn scored 20 points, hitting his first seven shots. Tramon Mark led Texas with 29 points despite playing through an injury. This loss marked Texas's fourth defeat on a game-winning field goal in the final two seconds, the most in NCAA tournament history. Purdue advances to the Elite Eight to face either Arizona or Arkansas.
