UCLA staff has updated current quarterbacks about the anticipated transfer of Nico Iamaleava from Tennessee, with discussions reportedly progressing. Although there are multiple schools interested in Iamaleava, UCLA isn't able to meet his financial demands, as he sought at least $4 million from Tennessee, while UCLA's offer was significantly lower. Iamaleava officially entered the transfer portal, and his relationship with Tennessee ended contentiously after he missed practices. His previous contract with Tennessee could have been worth up to $10 million if he remained for four years.
