Sources: UCLA, Iamaleava in talks for less money
Briefly

Nico Iamaleava, former quarterback for Tennessee, has officially entered the spring transfer portal as he evaluates his collegiate options. Interest from UCLA exists, but their financial offer significantly trails the $4 million he sought from Tennessee, where he originally earned $2.4 million. Tennessee's coach, Josh Heupel, confirmed the program is moving forward without Iamaleava after he missed crucial team communications. Despite his talent and starting experience, discussions of contract renegotiations have been ongoing since December following Tennessee's playoff defeat.
"He’s extremely talented with starting experience against elite competition. That’s sorta where we are right now," a UCLA source told ESPN.
"We'll see if it gets worked out. Iamaleava wanted at least $4 million from Tennessee, which UCLA isn't prepared to offer," sources confirmed.
