Lachlan Clark, a senior backup pitcher for Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, delivered a four-hit shutout against No. 1 Norco, finishing with seven strikeouts and zero walks in a 4-0 win. The victory advanced Notre Dame to next Friday’s Southern Section Division 1 baseball quarterfinals, after going 2-0 in Pool A. Norco faces elimination unless it wins Tuesday against Ayala. Clark recently committed to Long Beach State and has performed well in high-pressure situations, including a strong National Classic outing. An injury to Beckett Berg elevated Clark to the No. 2 role for the remainder of the season. Jacob Madrid added a home run, and the team celebrated afterward.
