Chargers address several needs in draft, but one area of potential concern remains

Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz emphasized the importance of competitiveness in the team's 2023 draft class, focusing on physical, smart players to strengthen the roster. With the aim of improving last season's sputtering offense, four of the Chargers' first six draft picks were skill players to benefit quarterback Justin Herbert. Harbaugh praised Hampton, the 22nd pick, as an immediate starting-level player, matching free-agent addition Najee Harris. "You just watch him move and take up space and just stays on his feet..."
