Greg Vanney emphasizes the necessity for the LA Galaxy to enhance their starting game intensity to avert disappointing beginnings that lead to difficult situations. With just three points from their first eight matches, the Galaxy's performance is concerning, tying for one of the worst starts in MLS history. After a recent 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo, Vanney acknowledged their resilience but pointed out that starting with low intensity created vulnerabilities. As they prepare to face Austin, who are performing better, Vanney knows the team must establish a stronger game presence right from the outset.
For us it's about the intensity that we start with. The other night it wasn't high enough and that left us vulnerable in some of our defensive actions.
I thought we were solid 10 versus 11, and we've got to have that intention right from the start, not get ourselves into these positions where we're digging ourselves out of holes.
