WATCH: New York Post Photographer Shot in the Head With Rubber Bullet During LA Riots
"I could've lost an eye. There was no justification for even aiming the rifle at me."
"Fuck, fuck, I just got shot in the head! Canham yelled, his voice shaking."
"The shooting occurred during a third night of violent unrest sparked by aggressive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations."
"Protesters blocked the 101 Freeway, setting self-driving cars ablaze and hurling rocks at police."
Toby Canham, a photojournalist, was shot in the forehead with a rubber bullet while covering anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. The incident occurred during violent protests against ICE operations targeting undocumented migrants. Canham, a British Army veteran, expressed disbelief at being targeted, noting he was the only one overlooking the freeway, making him an easy target. He suffered a severe bruise and was later treated for whiplash. The California Highway Patrol has not yet commented on the incident, which is under investigation.
