A bomb threat prompted immediate evacuation of the USC Student Union Building at 3601 Trousdale Parkway on Wednesday afternoon. USC Public Safety directed the evacuation at 2:31 p.m. and instructed students to remain away from the area. The Los Angeles Police Department assisted university police officers during the response. Authorities conducted a safety sweep and determined the bomb threat was false. The Student Union Building was reopened at 3 p.m., roughly 30 minutes after the evacuation, once officials confirmed no danger. Students were advised to avoid the area while responders secured the scene.
