On May 17, 2008, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 in the middle game of the Freeway Series. Chan Ho Park started for the Dodgers and pitched four innings, allowing two runs with one earned. Hong-Chih Kuo followed with four innings of scoreless relief. Takashi Saito entered in the ninth and allowed one run while finishing the win at Angel Stadium. The trio became the first group of three pitchers from three different Asian countries to cover all nine innings in a Major League game. Park, Kuo, and Saito represented South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, respectively.
