The Dodgers signed Tanner Scott to a four-year, $72 million contract after a dominant 2024 that featured a 1.75 ERA, 72 innings, and elite exit-velocity suppression. This season Scott's ERA rose to 4.64 across 58 appearances, he is tied for the MLB lead with nine blown saves, and he posted a 6.35 ERA across eight appearances this month. Scott says he has adopted a "to heck with it" approach to stop overthinking and return to his prior form, and he acknowledged feeling pressure from the contract. Manager Dave Roberts noted improved stuff and slider in Scott's last two scoreless outings and expressed confidence in him for October aspirations.
