Shohei Ohtani has gifts for Japanese taam ahead of WBC QFs
"As a Beats ambassador, I am truly honored to work with such incredible athletes such as Lebron James and Lionel Messi. I am excited at the new opportunities this partnership will bring."
"He played in each of Team Japan's first three games this tournament, stepping up to the plate 13 times. He recorded five hits, four walks, two home runs, six RBIs and four runs during that time. He's slashing .556/.692/1.333 during the tournament for a team-leading 2.025 OPS."
Shohei Ohtani, a global brand ambassador for Beats by Dre since September 2024, presented headphones to his Samurai Japan teammates before their World Baseball Classic knockout round. The gift was documented on Instagram by pitcher Fujihira Shoma, showing teammates receiving boxes branded with Ohtani's name and the Beats logo. Team Japan will travel to Miami for the knockout stages after finishing as Pool D runners-up. They will face either the Dominican Republic or Venezuela on Saturday, March 14. During pool play, Ohtani has not pitched but has excelled offensively, recording five hits, four walks, two home runs, six RBIs, and four runs across 13 plate appearances, posting a 2.025 OPS.
