Seven-planet parade lines up in the sky on Friday: How to see it from SoCal
Briefly

On Friday, a unique astronomical event will occur as seven planets align in the Northern Hemisphere's night sky, creating a striking sight called a planet parade. Although most planets can be viewed with the naked eye, conditions in urban areas like Los Angeles may hinder visibility due to light pollution. Observers should look shortly after sunset, with some planets requiring a telescope for observation. Experts emphasize that while the celestial alignment may seem like a cluster of planets, they are actually vastly distant from each other in space.
"The planets are always more or less on the same path, and occasionally a few more of them are visible in the night sky," said Ed Krupp.
"Some planets, including Mars, Jupiter and Venus, will appear brighter," noted San Diego Community College astronomy professor Lisa Will.
