Jack Little was designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers and was subsequently claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, who assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis. Little made his Major League debut on June 19, striking out hitters during tense games against rival teams. He had two appearances for the Dodgers, yielding two earned runs over three innings. Following his acquisition, he was added to the Pirates' 40-man roster, marking a shift in his career as he transitions to a new team in the Major Leagues.
"I'm taking starters out of the game, trying to get this game over with and get this kid a couple innings," Roberts said following the rivalry game in June. "And so that's why, I felt, I took that personal. Because I understand the game, and I understand that it doesn't feel good to get hit."
Little made two appearances for the Dodgers this season, allowing two earned runs on four hits across three innings of work with the defending champions in 2025.
By Wednesday, the rookie already found a new home when the Pittsburgh Pirates claimed him off waivers from the Dodgers.
Little was assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis and was added to Pittsburgh's 40-man roster.
