"To have a quarterback in the system for four years straight is amazing,"
"We're childhood friends and he trusts me,"
"Mike was great during those San Fernando days,"
"Jr. is more polished. This year he's picking teams apart."
Michael Wynn Jr., a fourth-year quarterback at St. Genevieve, has completed 1,531 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and two interceptions while leading the team to a 5-1 record. Michael Sr. was a standout quarterback at San Fernando in the late 1980s, creating a family quarterback legacy. Coach Billy Parra, a Kennedy graduate who knew Michael Sr. from youth and high school football, recruited Wynn Jr. and changed the offense back to a spread scheme. Parra emphasized the value of continuity with a four-year quarterback in the system and described Wynn Jr. as more polished and capable of picking teams apart.
