Last week, traffic halted on the northbound 405 Freeway in Harbor Gateway as Officer Osorio responded to a report of a kitten stuck in the lanes. He stopped all lanes, exited his vehicle, and gently retrieved the kitten from against the freeway's center divider. The rescue was captured on video. The officer then transported the kitten to a nearby animal shelter for care. The incident prevented potential harm to the animal and drivers and demonstrated a quick, humane response by law enforcement to an animal-in-distress call.
