"She was crying hysterically, saying, 'They stole my chain, they stole my chain!'"
"My mom's really sick, do you know if there's a pharmacy nearby?"
"'No, I don't need anything,' Guerrero said."
On Dec. 15 a 75-year-old woman in East L.A. returned home after shopping when a white car pulled up and its occupants called her over. The occupants asked, "My mom's really sick, do you know if there's a pharmacy nearby?" She saw two women and a child and noticed a knife near the center console, so she moved away. A woman exited, offered money and a chain, hugged her and insisted on putting a chain on her neck. The woman resisted, then the passenger removed the victim's gold necklace and golden cross and left a cheap chain. Family members reported she was hysterical and Jesse Guerrero witnessed the incident from nearby.
