Investigators finish fire test in Pacific Palisades as search for cause of January's blaze continues
Briefly

Federal investigators, including the ATF and LA Fire Department, conducted a controlled fire in Pacific Palisades to help determine the cause of January's devastating blaze that killed twelve and destroyed thousands of homes. This controlled fire tested various materials while confirming the cooling of fire remnants by officials. Investigators are focusing on whether a prior fire incident might have contributed to the rapid spread of flames during a severe windstorm that fanned the fire's growth.
ATF and the Los Angeles City Fire Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation during these operations as we determine the fire's origin.
Flame location, flame size is helpful; it is like playing a movie in reverse. You try and bring it back to its smallest spot within a reasonable degree of scientific certainty.
