Kevin Devine, 54, died during the Eaton fire, confirmed by the county medical examiner on April 22. Although he last spoke to his mother on January 7, assuring her of his safety, he was last seen outside his apartment that same evening. His remains were discovered on April 2 in Boston Street, making him the only identified victim east of Lake Avenue. The Eaton and Palisades fires resulted in 30 deaths overall and destroyed more than 16,000 homes in early January.
