""Just keep showing up, keep going on the field, keep playing. We're too good for it not to turn around," Kershaw said. "Just a complete performance today by everybody.""
""I wanted to get through six (innings) there. I made two bad pitches there - the last two sliders - so frustrating to not get out of there," Kershaw said. "Overall, it was a decent day, stuff-wise.""
Clayton Kershaw started the win that ended the Dodgers' five-game losing streak, pitching 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts, four hits allowed and two earned runs. Kershaw fell short of his six-inning goal after two late bad sliders but rated his outing as decent. Since August he owns a 6-0 record, a 2.75 ERA in 39.1 innings, 30 strikeouts and eight walks, and the Dodgers have gone 6-1 in his starts. Injuries have contributed to the recent slump, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto's 8.2 no-hit innings in a prior loss highlighted recent pitching frustrations. Max Muncy was activated and returned to the lineup, adding power for the final stretch.
