The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed infielder Buddy Kennedy off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays while designating pitcher Julian Fernández for assignment. Fernández, called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City, pitched in one game for the Dodgers, allowing two runs across two innings. He posted a solid performance in the minors with a 3.05 ERA this season. Kennedy joins the Dodgers after playing two games for the Blue Jays and has previously played for other teams including the Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Detroit Tigers.
