The Academy has officially announced that Conan O'Brien will be returning to host the Oscars for a second consecutive year. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang expressed their excitement in a statement praising O'Brien's previous hosting performance. They highlighted the success of the last ceremony, noting its entertainment value and tribute to the film community. In contrast, O'Brien humorously downplayed the honor by stating his real motivation for hosting is to hear a specific speech. The Oscars are scheduled for March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre.
In a joint statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang said they are 'thrilled' to bring O'Brien back, as well as returning executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan and returning producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney.
O'Brien didn't bother reciprocating with any compliments about the Academy in his statement, instead opting to explain, 'The only reason I'm hosting the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech.'
