Rio Foster, a 22-year-old outfielder for the High-A Tri-City Dust Devils, is in critical condition after a car accident early Friday morning. The Angels confirmed Foster is receiving medical care at a local hospital. Tri-City canceled its scheduled game against Hillsboro the same night. Foster was a 16th-round pick in the 2023 draft from Florence-Darlington Technical College and is batting .267 with 10 homers and 40 RBIs this season. Foster was named Northwest League player of the month for August. Team officials and coaches offered prayers and support for Foster and his family.
