Rex Heuermann, accused of being the Gilgo Beach serial killer, may plead guilty to the homicide of Karen Vergata, an eighth victim. Heuermann was initially expected to plead guilty to the murders of seven women. He has been indicted on multiple counts of first and second-degree murder related to the deaths of several sex workers. New DNA evidence linked him to these cases. A press conference with victims' families is scheduled following the court proceedings.
